ROOTS is a completely free, Monday-through-Friday after-school program designed for children ages 5-12 in the Powder Springs community. Every weekday from 2:30 to 6:00 PM, ROOTS provides a structured, caring environment where children receive homework assistance, a healthy snack, enrichment activities, and mentorship from trusted adults.
ROOTS was created because we saw too many children coming home to empty houses while their parents worked. We built a place where kids are safe, supported, and challenged to grow: academically, socially, and creatively.
ROOTS integrates with our art and music programs, giving children access to creative outlets as part of their daily experience.

ROOTS is designed to develop the whole child: mind, body, and character.
One-on-one and small-group academic support from trained volunteers. We meet children where they are and help them build confidence in school.
Every child receives a nutritious snack when they arrive. For many of our kids, this is the bridge between lunch and dinner.
Hands-on science experiments, coding basics, math games, and engineering challenges that make learning fun and accessible.
Reading circles, book clubs, and library time that build a love of reading and strengthen comprehension skills.
Children in ROOTS get access to our free art and music programs as part of the enrichment block, creative expression built into every week.
Daily circle-up conversations, conflict resolution, gratitude practices, and social-emotional learning activities that build resilient, compassionate kids.
